    DEWITT, MI, October 9, 2008 /Chemical News Articles/ -- Dr. Richard J. Staples, Founder and President of Crystallographic Resources, Inc., has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of scientific research.

Dr. Staples boasts an impressive 18 years of experience in determining structures from X-ray diffraction. As president of Crystallographic Resources, he is responsible for overseeing operations, determining the three-dimensional structures of crystals, and submitting reports to his clients, who are primarily from the pharmaceutical industry. He became involved in his profession because of his passion for crystallography, and considers his hard work and supportive colleagues to be the driving forces behind his success.

Previously, Dr. Staples worked at Harvard University as a lecturer and as the manager of x-ray crystallography. He did his Postdoctoral Research at Texas A&M University, received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Toledo in 1989, and received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Mathematics from Central Michigan University in 1985. He is a member of the American Crystallographic Association and the American Chemical Society. His goals for the future include expanding his business and developing X-ray powder diffraction services.
