Susan Patricia Setty Honored by Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Chemical Research
Scientific Expert and Promoter of LyondellBasell's Benzene-Based Solvent Recycling System
CINCINNATI, OH, January 14, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Susan Patricia Setty, Senior Laboratory Associate at LyondellBasell, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of chemical research.
Ms. Setty has 20 years of professional experience in the scientific field. At her current post, she specializes in gel permeation chromatography and temperature rising elusion fractionation. As a senior laboratory associate, she is responsible for analyzing internal as well as customer polypropylene samples and supporting instrument distillation through the use of a solvent recycling system. Ms. Setty improved, then promoted an environmentally friendly benzene-based solvent recycling system that allows her company to reuse chemicals repeatedly without having to dispose of them. This recycling system has saved LyondellBasell thousands of dollars—a fact that Ms. Setty finds particularly gratifying.
A former high school history teacher, Ms. Setty co-authored an international patent for polypropylene resin composition in 2007. She is working toward her Master's Degree in Chemical Education from Miami University, Ohio and intends to establish her own business in the future.
