As Founder and Managing Director of The Newell Group, as well as throughout his incredible 42 years in the business, Dennis has consistently demonstrated the passion, vision and dedication necessary to be among the best.

The Newell Group was founded by the Managing Director, Dennis Newell in 1967 and the Newell Family still owns the business. The company boasts a highly skilled workforce, specializing in composite reinforced plastics niche manufacturing. Their core business is 'Corrosion Resistant Products', based around the process of filament winding. They also use the processes of 'Polymer Concrete' and hand lay up. Niche product pattern and mold capabilities allow them to work closely with clients developing new products.

In 1973, The Newell Group began business using vacuum forming of plastic sheet entering the Composites Reinforced Plastics manufacturing. Between the 1970's and 90's the business grew, diversified and expanded greatly. New products and process were developed in such a way that several branches were established, including Newell Marine, Newell Signs, Newell Engineering and Newell Plastics/Fiberglass. After a devastating fire in 1996 destroyed their facility, their dedicated construction team began to rebuild it on the same site, and the new state-of-the-art factory became operational in September 1997.

Since that time, The Newell Group Australia has created alliances with several other companies in the composites industry, who share synergies in quality and integrity. This enables The Newell Group to engage in large contracts applying our quality assurances. These companies comprise of several FRP companies who can supply complimentary products, such as pipe and installation. Other clients use their drafting, design and engineering services so they can assist with product development, construction and installation.

Dennis Newell has over 40 years business experience including FRP design and engineering. He is actively involved in the marketing and networking of the business and possesses exceptional expertise in manufacturing and as an aqua-culturist. Mr. Newell is an Honorary South Australian Business Ambassador.
